From Pune to your face.
A collection with a soul.
Eyewear has always been a story of craft. This collection is a story of where the craft begins - in a place most of the industry has never looked.
Nothing is impossible to recycle.
It's just rare that anyone tries.
This collection is born from the meeting of two worlds: Safilo's ninety years of Italian craftsmanship in eyewear, and Made Without®'s patented chemistry, which transforms plastic the industry has long considered impossible to recycle into a material of virgin-grade quality.
The plastic that becomes these frames was, until recently, considered worthless. Multi-layer flexible plastic - the kind that wraps a chip packet or a sachet of shampoo - is the single largest stream of unrecycled plastic on earth. Less than 1% of it is currently recycled anywhere in the world. The technology to do it well, at scale, did not exist.
Now it does. And every frame in this collection carries three things with it: its origin, the people who made it possible, and a verifiable promise. This is not a limited edition. It is the beginning of a new standard for transparency in eyewear.
One frame.
Three engineered truths.
Made in VerdiFLX™ B75I - an engineering-grade recycled polyolefin, developed by Made Without® from flexible plastic waste that other recyclers cannot process.
75% physical recycled, not mass-balance.
Most "recycled" eyewear materials are certified by mass balance - an accounting method, not a physical claim. VerdiFLX B75I is physically recycled: every gram comes from an actual chip packet, sachet, or wrapper collected in Pune.
Modulus 1200 MPa. Elongation 200%.
Stiffer than virgin TR90. More resilient than standard recycled materials. REACH and RoHS compliant. Designed for ten recycling cycles without loss of properties.
-0.47 kg CO₂e per kg. Validated by Sphera.
Net-negative carbon at commercial scale. Compared to +1.8 kg CO₂e/kg for virgin polypropylene. Life-cycle assessment validated by Sphera, in accordance with ISO 14044.
Every pair tells the truth.
Verifiably.
A unique QR code inside every frame leads to this digital product passport. Materials, people, timeline and impact - in the open, every pair.

cycles
From the streets of Pune.
To the workshop of Padova.
Every kilogram of material in this collection follows the same path. Three steps in India, an ocean crossing, and the final stage in the hands of Safilo's master craftspeople in Italy.
Collected
From Pune's streets and the Mula-Mutha river, via Plastic Fischer's river-trap installation and the urban-poor collection network that Made Without® formalises with employment contracts, ESOPs, and health insurance.
Transformed
At the Chakan MIDC facility, the patented chemo-mechanical reactor operates at 120°C - not the 500°C of pyrolysis - to recover the polymer without destroying it. The output meets virgin-industrial standard.
Finished
In Padova, Safilo's master craftspeople take the recycled pellet and transform it into frames through injection moulding, polishing, and the 33 quality tests every pair undergoes before it is shipped.
Behind every pair,
hands with a story.
No material has a soul. People do. These three people made this collection possible - from collection to finishing - and Made Without® formalises them as partners, not as labour.
Rani Adsul
For years she collected plastic for survival. Today she runs the line that sorts and cleans that same plastic - on a permanent contract, with ESOPs and health insurance. The team she leads is twelve strong.
Sakhu Vitthal
Runs the patented chemo-mechanical reactor that separates polymer from metallisation. Trained on-site, certified within six months. The know-how is not outsourced - it is grown locally.
Maria Bellini
Verifies every batch before it leaves the plant. Each frame undergoes 33 quality tests - colour, weight, yield, UV stability - to meet Safilo's standard while honouring the recycled origin.
A collaboration
across three pillars.
This collection sits squarely inside Safilo's sustainability vision - SBTi-validated, Fashion Pact-signed. Here is how each pillar is served.
- SA8000-aligned, audit-ready supply chain
- Formalised waste-pickers: employment contracts, ESOPs, health insurance
- 2-3× local fair wages, on permanent contracts
- Lives changed per pair - CSDDD and UFLPA audit-ready
- VerdiFLX™ - 70 to 100% physical recycled, not mass-balance
- GRS and RCS certification in process
- LCA per batch, Sphera-validated, ISO 14044
- Drop-in for existing moulding lines - no retooling
- Net-negative carbon: -0.47 kg CO₂e/kg vs +1.8 for virgin
- 120°C process, not the 500°C of pyrolysis
- Aligns with your 70% Scope 1+2 and 25% Scope 3 SBTi targets
- Ten recycling cycles - closed-loop ready
