We’re building this with or without you. With you, we move faster.
We’re trying to change how organisations get built. Not a company with a CSR programme, not a charity with a gift shop. One vision with a commercial engine and a deep-impact arm that fund and sharpen each other, a template we think capitalism badly needs.
Proving a template is expensive. It’s R&D on materials nobody has recycled, and R&D on impact nobody has made stick. Ten rupees or ten thousand dollars, all of it moves the same vision.

Donations in India go to Foundation Without®, our independent non-profit.
Right now, that means one thing: the first graduation cohort. 31 households, around 150 people across generations, in a 24-month programme modelled on BRAC’s graduation approach, the most evidence-backed route out of ultra-poverty there is. We’re adapting it for urban waste-picking communities in Pune, and writing the playbook so it can replicate with every plant we build.

Your donation is tax-deductible and supports our charitable work: proving that the world’s hardest waste can be recycled ethically and economically, while the people who collect it graduate into formal, dignified work.
The plumbing, in plain words (we like plain words): your donation goes to our fiscal sponsor, which holds it in a restricted fund under its sole control and grants it towards the project’s charitable purposes. That control is what makes your donation deductible. This is R&D, a proof of concept in the making, so we can’t promise specific outcomes. We can promise you’ll hear exactly how it’s going, sugar-free.

The fair question
Why donate, if the company funds this?
Fair question. They’re two arms of one vision, doing two different jobs.
Made Without® proves what ethical business can do: dignified jobs, formal contracts, health insurance, real wages. But a job changes an income, and that alone doesn’t always change a household. Debt, health shocks, a child’s schooling, entitlements never claimed. That’s the Foundation’s job: the deep interventions that even a good employer can’t do, and markets won’t fund.
The Foundation runs independently. As Made Without® grows, its funds will flow here too, but the Foundation is built to stand on its own, with its own donors, because this work shouldn’t depend on any one company’s quarter.
Your donation is R&D capital for a model, not charity for a moment. Graduation is specific here: stable income, lower debt, access to entitlements, measured wellbeing. Not a meal served. A household that doesn’t slide back.

Deep impact, not shallow reach
Lives changed, not just touched
We don’t count meals served or training sessions attended. We count lives permanently changed.
- Lives touched: we gave someone a meal.
- Lives impacted: we provided a one-day training.
- Lives changed: we graduated a household out of multidimensional poverty.
We optimise for the last one. It takes longer. It costs more. It compounds forever.
Not a case study
The people doing it
Jayshri
The first informal worker we employed at Ashaya. Her monthly income has tripled, and she has a salaried bank account for the first time.
Her husband left years ago, and she supports her daughter, who is in school, and her mother. At Without®, she runs shredding, washing and early processing of waste.
Rahul
Son of a former waste-picker, and the primary earner in a household of seven. He went from informal daily wages to a formal contract with insurance.
He now runs the extrusion process and sets up the patent-pending chemical reaction that processes packets of chips.
Seema
Her in-laws are former waste-pickers, and she was a housekeeper before joining us. She is the sole breadwinner for two children and a husband with serious health issues, and her income has doubled here.
She finishes moulded sunglasses frames and cuts lenses, and she’s an expert weaver: she helped weave the dress that walked the ramp at Lakmé Fashion Week.

Foundation Without® is led by Avanti. When the cohort hits milestones, donors hear about it, including the failures.
